Traditions are what the holiday season are all about! The 19th Annual Holiday Festival is a tradition that should be carried on by all in our community. If you have never attended then this is the year to begin this tradition. Meet your family and friends on our very own Main St. for laughter and holiday cheer. Friday, December 4 at 6 p.m. will be the kick off. Santa will come downtown as the highlight of the Christmas Parade to Gazebo Park where he will ceremoniously light the Christmas tree for the first time this holiday season.
Be sure to stroll Main Street and enjoy performances by many of our local choirs. Stop in the gazebo for a visit with Santa. Be sure to bring your camera as you will want to catch the look on your special child's face as they see Santa for the first time this year. Watch as the kids bounce their energy away in the House of Bounce.
Head west on Main St. to catch a glimpse of Santa's reindeer as they rest up for their travel back to the North Pole. Don't forget to take the kiddies down to Performance Plus for a ride on a pony. Stay and stroll Main St. The shops will be open and ready for your holiday needs and specialty vendors will line the street. There will be many surprises for both young and old alike.
Remember the days where you could get all you ever needed in life from the Main Street in your town? Main Street Maple Shade, Inc., is a non-profit local group working to bring that nostalgic image into the 21st century. Very few towns anymore have surviving Main Streets, which is why the National Trust for Historic Preservation began the Main Street, USA initiative.
